The ceramics class finished up sculpting their entries for our first annual "Cupcake Wars" competition! They built the base using pinch pots and came up with their own theme and design. I have to say, the results greatly exceeded my expectations! The students came up with SO many fabulous ideas! I have never seen such creative and intricate cupcakes. They will be adding color after I fire them next week, I cant wait to see how they turn out!
The 6th graders are working hard on their first project, selfie color collages! They learned about contour line, collage and color schemes. They carefully chose colors, drew a contour portrait and have been adding to their collages all week, they are very close to being done!
7th Art Foundations
This class is working on a unit called "Poetic Portraits", they are combining blind contour drawing with colored pencil and typography. I cant wait to see the final projects!
3-5 Elementary Art
The elementary grades did a great job sewing their sketchbooks! We did a simple saddle stitch method and they turned out great. I am so happy that each and every one of my art students has their own handmade book! Want to make your own at home? Check out this tutorial.
P.S. We also had our first sketchbook check for the middle school classes today, if you are missing points be sure to make them up! You can ALWAYS get those points back by redoing/making up those missed warm ups. They are available online under the "info" tab. You can also get the missed days from a neighbor or use the hard copy in class :)
