The photo class has been working on a big 30 day photo challenge assignment. Each student was given a list of prompts, one for each day of the challenge.
3rd & 4th Art
The third and fourth grade classes finished up their big Tissue Paper Portrait assignment. I have to say, I LOVE THEM! The students were all thrilled with the results of this fun project. Each student took time to really focus on drawing their own faces. The third graders just drew from imagination, but the fourth graders got to use my class set of mirrors. The students were all very proud of their finished drawing, for most of them it was their first self portrait ever!
Once the drawings were done the students traced in marker and added descriptive words to the background. We then used a fun bleeding tissue paper process to add splashes of color. I had to feature a ton of these!
The 6th graders finished up a little origami project this week called "Comfort Boxes". Each student picked a saying they felt would comfort the opener and then used depth to create a layered image. Each box has a distinct foreground, middle ground and background to make the scene feel 3D.
The 7th graders finished up their Inner Me/Outer Me masks! I wish I could post 3D photos because it is so fun to see all the detail from every angle. The students did a great job with the project, here are a few I chose to feature.
