The 7th Grade class finished up their 2 Point Perspective Tree House design project. It is always SO fun to see the creative ideas the students come up with for this assignment. We began by learning how to draw using two point perspective, which proves challenging for a lot of the students. But with a little practice, the students are able to take those skills and design their own amazing home!
This week the 6th graders finished up one of my favorite assignments of the year.....Life Maps! Each student created a unique map that detailed various important events in their lives. It is always so fun to see what events the students choose to include, it really helps me to get to know them better!
The ceramics class began their slab mug project. I showed the students how to roll even slabs and then we built the mugs around cylinders.
3rd: The third grade classes learned how to mix tints and shades, then used that knowledge to create 4 unique "flavors" of ice cream. After they painted in their scoops and scoops, we played a little guessing game dealing with color mixing. Next week the students will put their artwork together and add details!
4th: The fourth graders also learned about tints and shades, but they are using their paint to create seascape backgrounds! Next week they will add animals to complete the project.
5th: The fifth graders put together the color wheels they painted last week, we then used the movable wheels to play a fun color scheme matching game. These classes also got to finish their sketchbooks and create a cover page.
