The 6th grade classes finished up a fun silhouette project in which we got to see into their "heads". It was so fun to see what each student included in their portrait. We started by taking a photo of each student in profile and printing them out. Then we carefully cut around the edges and traced the shape onto nice drawing paper. The students then filled the silhouettes with things they think about, enjoy or are interested in. I loved the result!
The fifth graders spent a day learning about observational drawing. We practiced drawing shoes, once from memory and once using direct observation. The students were amazed at the difference!
The 7th grade class is currently working on large scale grid drawings, I am so excited to see how they turn out! Last week they jumped into a clay whistle project and created their own musical sculpture.
3rd-4th Grade
The younger grades completed a fun one day fall project. They chalked a background and then used black paint to create their own fall scene. The third graders did a smaller version with a moon and tree while the fourth graders did a larger scene.
| 8/9 Ceramics The ceramics class has been hard at work on a coil vase project. Coils are extremely hard to manipulate, but they did a great job! Boxes also got glazed this week. The blue Tardis was actually created by our school counselor! |
