My 6th graders LOVED this dragon eye project. It is such a fun way to experiment with texture and alternative art materials. We started the assignment by looking at a variety of animal eyes and talked about how to use oil pastel to create a glossy colorful eye. The students then added scales with sharpie in an interesting pattern. Once the sharpie was done, students used bleeding tissue paper to create beautiful colored backgrounds.

The fifth graders are finally finishing up their BEAUTIFUL landscape paintings. I couldn't be prouder of these amazing artists. Not only are their landscapes beautifully drawn, but they controlled their watercolor as well!
8/9 Ceramics The ceramics students finished up some AWESOME slab boxes this week. The kids really went above and beyond on their designs and I can't wait to get them fired.
The younger grades finished up some stunning "Van Gogh Style" flower vases. We looked at many flower paintings and explored how to use oil pastel to create blended colors. They were all so excited about how they turned out!
