The foundations classes finished up their sketchbooks this week! Since this was my second time teaching this project, things went a little smoother and the books were able to be completed 2 full days sooner! I am so proud of all the students for their careful work on these books. The Coptic binding is tricky, but once you get the hang of it the sewing process can be a lot of fun.
The fifth grade classes have been working on a really colorful and fun oil pastel project. They first drew an intricate tree in marker, and we are now working on filling in the rest with vibrant analogous colors. The third graders did a quick printmaking project with Styrofoam and washable markers.
The fourth grade classes have been learning all about fossils and paleontology this week in their homeroom classes. I had them make their own fossils in art so they could enjoy some messy learning!
